
Surface at the Seattle Art Museum and LISTEN: It's a Sound Show, a one-night-only, “sound art" exhibition co-curated with Emily Pothast at Equinox Studios, which included works by 21 artists and collectives and foregrounded the act of listening as an embodied, politicized experience. Notable projects include an exhibition and event series exploring the limits of visual arts and poetry, / what are we but lying single surface /, co-curated with Natalie Ann Martínez at The Alice, Rot: Compost vs Surgery, a video and sound screening co-curated with S. Since 2016 Mac has worked with artists, curators and organizers locally, nationally and internationally, to collaboratively curate and produce ambitious experimental exhibitions.

Molly began formally curating exhibitions in early 2016 as a member of the curatorial team at The Alice, a collective, artist-run gallery in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from University of Washington, an MFA in Combined Media Art from Hunter College in NYC, and completed two years of postgraduate study at The Center for Digital Art and Experimental Media at the University of Washington. Molly has taught art history, video and media art production courses and workshops for youth and adults at Seattle University, University of Washington, The Henry Art Gallery (Seattle), Seattle International Film Festival, Reel Grrls and Photo Center Northwest. Her multimedia performances and immersive video and sound installations have been shown in Seattle, New York, London, and Glasgow. Molly Mac is a Seattle-based educator, cultural organizer, curator and new media artist.
